Absence Procedure

Unplanned Absence

 

  1. Call Tricia with your absence by no later than 7:30 a.m. at 321-8032. NO texts or e mails.

Only when Tricia has a planned day off, please call Cheryl at 321-4217.

If no answer, please leave a voice mail.  We will respond to your call.  If you have not heard back within 10 minutes, DO NOT assume that we have gotten your message.  Please call back.

  1. You will be responsible for lining up a sub/coverage, if needed, unless you are physically unable to do so.
  2. Notify your district/families effected by your absence and communicate if you have a substitute/have coverage.
  3. Please leave lesson plans or directions for the substitute.
  4. Complete the absence report within three days after returning.
Emergency Leave Absence

Please follow the Unplanned Absence Procedure above, with the exception of that you will need to get director approval to use your sick leave in this manner.

Unplanned Absence (during the work day)
  1. Call Tricia/Office as soon as you make the decision to leave for the day.
  2. Together we will discuss substitute/coverage options.
  3. Notify your district/families effected by your absence.
  4. If applicable, please try to leave lesson plans or directions for the substitute.
  5. Complete the absence report within three days after returning.
Planned Absence (personal day, sick day for appointments, etc)
  1. Email/Call Tricia with your proposed planned absence prior to completing any forms.
  2. If approved, complete absence report, including who the substitute will be, if applicable.
  3. You will be responsible for your own sub/coverage.
  4. Communicate with all districts/families that will be effected by your absence.
  5. Please leave either lesson plans or directions for the substitute.
Professional Leave Request
  1. Email/call Tricia with your proposed professional leave request. Together with Cheryl we will determine if your request can be approved.
  2. If approved, complete absence report (online) and specify Professional Development.
  3. Complete registration forms, if payment of registration is required, and submit to Cheryl. These forms must be completed at least two weeks prior to proposed professional development activity.
  4. You will be responsible for lining up a sub/coverage, if needed.
  5. Communicate with all district/families effected by your absence.
  6. Please leave either lesson plans or directions for the substitute.
